“Thrift wedding dress makeover" Part II: the moment of doubt

⚡️Always challenge yourself. ⚡️ Before the reception or le marriage religieux there was another important event to attend to. The civil marriage ceremony with a mayor and couple close friends and family. 🕺 And I was assigned to create a short white dress a-la Grace Kelly for a bride in a……. month😳. Someone would definitely say : “a month ! That’s a lot ! “ But for a person who has never made one herself it’s insufficient. I panicked. 🤯I was asking myself if my friend has overestimated my skills, maybe she was just joking, “maybe I could do it but in a year, not right now. “

After my failed attempt to create a skirt that fits her I has sent her messages about not being able to accomplish the mission. She called me immediately cheering me up and saying one of the most important words I could ever wish to hear. 💍She: “ I know you CAN do it ! Why do YOU doubt yourself? “ ⚡️I: How do you know I can !?!? 💍She: Because I DO, you are not suppose to ask this kind of questions. Lol. ⚡️I: You have never seen my works before why do you still believe in me ! 💍She: Because I see your potential and you need to practice. I want to be the first person to wear your dress, so you are doing it.

I was speechless for a moment, thankful for the opportunity and for the trust to create not just a dress, but a dress for the one of the most important event in her life. Sometimes you NEED a person who supports you even when everyone including you doubt yourself.🙏 This was not only a challenge, but a blessing to be a part of this process. 🙏Thank to you, my dear @yaverbalex
